Event: Dundas Community Fair – BBQ
Date: 1 June 2013. 11am – 3pm
Place: Yates Ave. Public School

The day started slow with 6 Lions on site. However, three of the Lions had to leave for different reasons, and that is when the rush started. With only three Lions, we all had to work twice as hard to feed the hungry crowd. One of the ladies waiting in line, seeing that we were struggling, came in and helped us with the bread.

Soon reinforcements arrived, and we were able to get things going again. Of course the appearance of Geoff Lee and Julie Owens helped only in increasing the crowd who waited to be served by politicians.

At the end of the day we ran out of stock on sausages and drinks. And the last sandwich was an onion sandwich. I don’t know what sauce was added, but it must have been good.

All in all, the day was a big success, both financially and on connecting with the community.

YotYAn update for our Youth of the Year programme

Club Judging

Our club judging will be held on Tuesday 5th March .2013

This is our usual dinner meeting and will be at the Carlingford Bowl;ing  club.

At this stange we have 5 young people registered so should be an interesting evening and I encourage our members to attend and demonstrate our support for all these young people. The winner will then progress to the Zone judging.

Zone Judging

As Regions have now been eliminated by our District Governor  we will now have a combined Zone judging . At our last Board meeting we were asked and the board agreed  to host this event.  Consequently this will be held and sponsored by us the following month  either  on 12th /13th/14th of march . Depending upon venue availability and supporting clubs timetable  etc I will advise as soon as finalized again trust I can rely on the club members for their continued support of this unique Youth programme
